Under President Trump, DHS Blocks Chinese Genomics Companies Linked to Forced Labor

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin announced the addition of three Chinese genomics companies to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act Entity List, prohibiting their goods from entering the United States unless importers prove they were not made with forced labor. This action prohibits goods produced by these companies, which the department determined support Xinjiang's mass surveillance infrastructure and repression of ethnic minorities, from entering the United States unless importers can demonstrate the absence of forced labor.
