White House wants veterans to replace immigrant truckers who lost their licenses in crackdown

The Trump administration announced a campaign to recruit veterans as truck drivers to replace immigrant drivers who lost their licenses. The initiative will allow veterans to bypass skills tests for commercial driver's licenses and will fund training programs through the GI Bill. Tens of thousands of immigrant drivers lost their licenses after enforcement of English language requirements and audits found licenses were issued illegally.
