Trump’s former defense secretary tells White House not to ‘roll out the red carpet’ for Xi

Former Defense Secretary Mark Esper advised the White House not to excessively welcome Xi Jinping for an upcoming meeting. Esper stated that the Trump administration "should be very clear with regard to where we stand vis-a-vis Xi Jinping" ahead of Thursday’s meeting.
