Trump rebuilds trade regime with new tariffs on global trading partners

The Trump administration announced new tariffs of up to 12.5% on 60 global trading partners to prevent a lapse in import taxes. These tariffs, stemming from a Section 301 investigation into forced labor goods, take effect Friday and target countries deemed to be not effectively enforcing bans on such trade.
