This week, NORAD and USNORTHCOM hosted Mr. Michael Buemi, Deputy Assistant Secretary of War for Counternarcotics and Global Threats, at our headquarters on Peterson Space Force Base. During his visit, Mr. Buemi engaged with command leadership, key staff planners, and intelligence specialists, as well as Special Operations Command North (SOCNORTH), to discuss synchronized defense efforts. Discussions focused on strengthening our counter-transnational criminal organization (CTCO) supporting operations, activities, and investments, and enhancing intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) support. Transnational criminal networks present a complex challenge to North American security.
