The nursing shortage won’t fix itself. Congress must step in.

Chief Nursing Officer Patty Knecht called on Congress to approve $346 million for Title VIII Nursing Workforce Development Programs in the fiscal 2027 appropriations package. The funding is intended to combat the national nursing shortage.
