The American West Is Quietly Having a Terrible Fire Season

Climate scientist Daniel Swain stated it is an extraordinary fire season in the American West, with approximately 7.2 million acres burned year-to-date. This represents the largest area burned by this point in the decade and nearly double the acreage from the same period in the previous year.
