Since his first term, President Trump has insisted that U.S. trade agreements require our partners to stop importing goods made with forced labor, in exchange for access to our market. With this action, he has imposed tariffs to ensure that all major trading partners follow suit. To date, TEN countries have committed to stand up a forced labor import ban in bilateral agreements with us, and since USTR began the 301 investigation, NINE countries have adopted forced labor import bans.
