Senator presses Hegseth, Caine for commitment to keep US military out of the midterm elections

Senator Elissa Slotkin asked Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine to confirm the Department of Defense will not send federal troops to polling places or seize election materials. The Pentagon stated it will respond directly to Slotkin, while the Joint Chiefs have not yet commented.
