Prime Minister Mark Carney stated Canada is intensifying trade negotiations with the U.S. but is prepared to respond to President Donald Trump's threat of 50% tariffs on Canadian goods. The new tariffs, scheduled for August 19, cover a wide range of goods excluding energy products, potash, fish, and critical minerals.
