Opening Statement by Ambassador Greer Before the Senate Finance Committee

U.S. Trade Representative Ambassador Greer reported that U.S. goods and services exports reached record monthly levels from February to May, with capital goods constituting a larger share of imports. The U.S. trade deficit in goods decreased by 24 percent for the 12 months ending in May 2026 compared to the previous year.
