Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi told The Atlantic that military presence does not create ties between societies and advocated for economic engagement during a visit to Washington D.C. Three U.S. service members were reported dead in incidents in Jordan and Iraq around the time of al-Zaidi's meetings.
