Democrats look to states with Black, Latino voters to build momentum in 2028

The Democratic National Committee adopted a 2028 presidential primary schedule placing states with diverse populations, including South Carolina, Nevada, New Mexico, Michigan, and Virginia, at the front of the calendar. DNC chairman Ken Martin described the new schedule as the party's most diverse in history, intended to test nominees with key voter groups and regions.
