DC Public Schools violated federal law by failing its students with disabilities and ignoring its legal obligations. Following ED’s recent investigation, DCPS has elected to come into compliance. DCPS agreed to remedy their violations through the establishment of a new central office responsible for overseeing the provision of services to students with disabilities, a thorough review and revision of pertinent policies, and the provision of training annually to all District level staff. We look forward to seeing DCPS’ students with disabilities finally receive the services to which they are entitled.
