73 years ago today, on July 30, 1953, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed the Small Business Act, establishing the U.S. Small Business Administration. Since then, SBA has served as the federal government’s largest guarantor of business loans. Our role is to provide capital, contracting, counseling, and disaster assistance to help entrepreneurs live the American Dream, create jobs, and drive economic growth. Today, America’s 36 million small businesses create two out of every three new jobs, contribute nearly half of U.S. GDP, and represent 99% of all private businesses. The Trump Administration understands that small business is BIG business for America – which is why the entire America First economic agenda is designed to reward our nation’s job creators and workers – through tax cuts, deregulation, and fair trade. Under the leadership of @POTUS and @SBA_Kelly, the Main Street comeback is underway – and the SBA is working hard every day to deliver on behalf of America’s builders, doers, innovators, and entrepreneurs.
